Number of Years Teaching: 6 Number of Years at Merton: 6 Teaching Philosophy: - I believe every child is unique and learns in their own way. In order to discover a child's learning style, it is my privilege to get to know the child and build a solid relationship with him or her. This will allow me to plan lessons in a way that meets the child's individual needs. Getting to know the child will also allow me to find out his or her background and interests. This knowledge will assist me in making learning fun and engaging regardless of whether we are learning about math, reading or any other content area. This will result in the child being actively involved in his or her own learning. This learning will take place in a safe and comfortable environment where the child has the freedom to express his or her thoughts and ideas without judgment or embarrassment. In my classroom there are no wrong answers, only opportunities to learn.
