Number of Years Teaching: 18 Number of Years at Merton: 6 Teaching Philosophy: - Reading is not an innate skill- it must be acquired through learning and practice. I believe that children all have the ability to become a reader with the support of home and school. Some students need more support and practice, different strategies, explicit instruction, or different levels and types of books to learn. Once the gateway to a reader's life is opened, their lives will be forever changed. I live for the moments when hard work pays off and I see students finally achieving this!
