Number of Years Teaching: 14 Number of Years at Merton: 11 Teaching Philosophy: - Teaching isn't about standing in front of a class lecturing on various topics, creating assessments, or grading papers. It is about building a community where students treat each other with respect, show compassion for one another, and talk openly about difficult topics. It's about building relationships, sharing stories, and developing trust. It is about helping students to gain a strong passion, excitement, and love for learning. It's about teaching students to push themselves to go above and beyond what they ever thought they could do, about helping them to understand their potential, and pushing them to always do their best. It's about creating engaging learning experiences that students will remember for a lifetime. This is the kind of teacher I want to be. This is the kind of teacher that I will always strive to be.
